The professionalization of "doing" science has produced more number of "scientific" papers and more "scientists" and not so equal contributions to knowledge.

Compelling more youngsters to do science is not much meaningful if we produce more professionals in science than contributors to knowledge. For the last many decades the trend throughout the globe is development of technology and fundamental contributions to knowledge have been far and wide.
Many professional scientists do not know the philosophy and its spirit to the contribution to knowledge. Many famous physicists have been great philosophers.

Scientific temperament is not merely studying science and denounce which is not based on mere logic and reason.

It would-be interesting to know that it is also the intuition of the intellectuals and scientists which contributed to the furtherance of knowledge and revolutionary concepts about time, space and energy. Mere logic and reasoning stop contributing after a level. Concepts contributed by intuition also is science.

The essence of and sign of possessing scientific temperament is to have an open mind without any inhibitions to welcome new knowledge which may nit conform to our likes or dislikes. Sometimes subjective perspective may reveal natural phenomenon better than mere objective observations.
We are interested in valid knowledge; we may get it through any mental faculty, and not merely by logic or reasoning. Scientific temperament is to recognize knowledge and use it to seek and establish truth by subjective or objective perspectives.

We must be aware that we use faith in the intellectual or intuitive expressions of scientists, intellectuals, philosophers, seers and like eminent personalities and take that as valid knowledge and truth. Our faith in the authority of eminent intellectuals mostly consists of our knowledge and knowledge-systems.

Let us also admire, adore, respect and utilize knowledge given to us through all means of human mental endeavours.

Let us help us in being knowledgeable and not confuse or condemn what is beyond our mental grasp or individual likes and dislikes.

Truth is many times transcendent to our mental capabilities and abilities.

Let us learn to honor intellectual and intuitive contributions to knowledge, reality and truth despite and inspire of our innocence and ignorance.

May us seek truth through all our mental faculties.
